Bees love Borage and so should you

Most people that I run into have not heard of Borage. It doesn't have the best name in the world for starters - sounding as much like boring or boorish as anything else.

The reality is that Borage is actually a pretty cool plant. Up here in the northeast US, it grows fairly easily. I have grown it in containers and directly sown it, and both are effective. In my experience, it starts blooming early in the season and continues into August or later. It does seem to like water, which hasn't been a problem this year and seems pretty tolerant of variations in weather.

and the Bees love it.. especially the bumblebees around here. When I pass by there are always lots of bumbles buzzing around pollinating the flowers. It seems like they just can't get enough.

It also has many side bonuses that make it a nice companion plant. It's quite a nice-looking flower, the flower smell appears to mask some of the sweet smell of other plants like strawberries, and the the flowers are also edible and can be used to pretty up a salad.

So far I have found no downsides, except maybe that I haven't found a way to offer it as a product. If any of you have ideas, I'd love to hear them.
